Akbuk
Akbuk is situated on the western Aegean coast
of Turkey. The town is only 50 min's from
Kusadasi, 45mins from Bodrum Airport and 1hr
20mins from Izmir. It became a township in 1991
and lies between Bodrum and Didim, and is
ideally located for access to the historical
sites in the area like the Temple of Apollo,
Ephesus and The Temple of Artemis as well as the
great natural site at Pamukkale. Akbuk is an
ideal location for your new property in Turkey
and attracts investors looking for that perfect
holiday home investment opportunity. Just
recently it was announced that planning has been
agreed for two new golf courses in the area,
both within 10/15 min's drive from Akbuk, a new
400 bedroom hotel, a cinema complex and Easyjet
has just announced a new route from Gatwick to
Bodrum starting in April 2009.
The Views and Surrounding Area
It boasts beautiful breathtaking views over
the crystal clear water of the Aegean Sea and to
the Bodrum Peninsula. The area is also covered
with protected forests and olive trees, with the
background scenery being immensely lush and
green due to the tree covered mountains that
cradle the Village and Bay. The beach is dotted
with sandy coves and together with the clear
calm waters is ideal for bathing. The climate is
warm, but being in the bay a gentle breeze is a
refreshing and ideal feature especially in the
peak summer months.
The Town And Beach
The town has its own beaches, bars,
restaurants and supermarkets which are on a
smaller scale than the very busy resort of
Altinkum, yet this is just 15 min's away by car
or bus if you fancy a night out in it's lively
restaurants, bars and clubs. There are three
markets each week in different locations which
keep Akbuk very traditional compared with other
Turkish resorts. Akbuk has a preservation and a
building order by the ministry on its lands to
preserve its natural beauty and scenery. You can
only build on 15% of the land with a maximum of
three storeys making this a very pleasant area
for a Turkish holiday home or residential
property. Akbuk has the 5 star Caprice Palace
Hotel and the 4 star Holiday Resort Hotel,
leisure, shopping and health facilities yet it
is still far from the crowds of the big city.
